The 9th Generation Lancer comes with a front strut bar (FSB)... but only if it was a Lancer GT; when Mitsu initially launched the 9th Gen Lancer, there were 2 models... the GT and the GLS. The GLS back then did not have any FSB. The GLS model has since been discontinued.

For GT and 1st-batch GLS owners, there are a few aftermarket FSBs such as Ultra Racing (which I had personally bought), CUSCO as well as the subject of this topic i.e. SUMMIT.

It is a good option for GLS owners that do not have a FSB, as well as GT owners looking to upgrade to better quality and looks.

The weight of the standard lancer GT strut bar weighs in at 2.2kg. The summit is half of that.

after market reputable FSB will break into pieces when accident. the OEM one might just 'shoot' into the cabin and cause serious damage

But some may argue that the OEM or other brands like UR, can protect you cause they act like a cage.
